Is this a universal truth for all of us; living life to make a difference? And how can we make a difference if we’re in a small town like Cleveland Ohio. Is it even possible? Yes, it is. Every step, every word, every action is counted toward the bigger picture. It’s our friends that are struggling financially. The homeless on the street searching for food and warmth. It’s a smile you share with someone at the office that appears to be struggling. The car in front of us that just won’t cooperate. It’s letting go. It’s understanding that what we do for others will reverberate around the world. It’s one of the bigger rules of thought I will abide by in 2009 – I need to step it up a notch.  Take care of yourself of course, because we’re no good to others when we’re suffering ourselves, but a helping hand means more than you think. It’s the conscious efforts we make; the little notes my dog walker leaves me during the week to say hello and check in,  it’s when you know someone in your life is having a rough time and you make it a point to send them a warm gesture: a simple phone call, email, text; you never know, it may just alleviate some heartache. 2008 was certainly a year of growth for me, and many lessons learned/still learning, but some amazing things came out of this year – I realize it’s so much more than me.

I also need to thank all my friends for the immeasurable amount of support you’ve given me this year. I’ve also had the opportunity to meet new friends along the way, as well as a few sweet love affairs. Some of you I miss more than life itself; I lost touch with a Teacher, a few best friends, you know what it’s like when growth takes over, we lose people on the journey. And En, it was so nice talking with you last night. You said one thing that has stuck with me since I hung up the phone; is he in love with you or the idea of you. Thank you. You are all so encouraging.
