Dad provides the quote of the week…
Posted by: | CommentsIt’s Monday madness, friends. But just think, a week from now we’ll all celebrate our labor and enjoy a day off!
I decided to choose my own quote of the week, it comes from Pastor Webb – a.k.a, my dad. He used the quote in his sermon yesterday. And thank you for sharing the quote in Twitterville, M -Â your tweets always make me smile.
The quote is on happiness, but I was especially delighted when she told me his sermon yesterday included another message – a bigger picture message: our attitudes are contagious. It brought tears to my eyes – -Â my dad and I have connected. I think that healed my heart. It’s all about what we’re putting out there. Religion aside, this is a part of the message – the key – if we’re going to improve this crazy world we live in. I know it sounds entirely too simple, but if we live in a positive light, healing will manifest. It is NOT easy – look at we’re surrounded by: Chaos. I found myself starting to cave under the pressure. But my dad’s message is a reminder: it starts with us. It also reminded me of something else: how important it is to surround yourself with positive attitudes/energy. It is contagious. Think about the times you go dark and you hang out with a “level-headed” friend – you feel so much better. Latch onto them – hopefully they share -Â and let it rub off on you. We all could use a little positive in our lives.
Here’s the quote M posted on Twitter. I looked up the quote online, and it’s from an anonymous source.
Happy doesn’t mean that everything is perfect. It means you’ve decided to look past the imperfections~ Anonymous
Right on, Dad. I know I can get bummed when I start thinking about my idiosyncrasies. I was giving myself such a hard time these last few months, to the point of; “why do I operate this way?” It’s when we look past our imperfections and realize it’s beyond Us – that is happiness. Let’s see how far we can take the message: give yourself a break today and spread some joy. How does that sound?

A mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul…
Posted by: | CommentsAnd so it goes….
I love Sundays. I try to keep them low key, since it is a day of rest. I’ll do a bike ride or some Yoga, but that’s the extent of it. I like to keep it calm. So in keeping with that theme, I figured it was a good day for some Eddie Vedder – Guaranteed – from the Into the Wild soundtrack. If you don’t own this soundtrack, I highly recommend adding it to your collection. Beautiful. I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve mentioned Into the Wild on my blog – it’s one of those movies that changed me.
Watch the video – I promise you’ll enjoy it. And if you’re working today, you can still keep the calm in your head.
Enjoy your Sunday…
On bended knee is no way to be free. Lifting up an empty cup, I ask silently, that all my destinations will accept the one that’s me, so I can breathe. Circles they grow and they swallow people whole. Half their lives they say goodnight to wives they’ll never know. A mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul, and so it goes. Don’t come closer or I’ll have to go. Holding me like gravity are places that pull. If ever there was someone to keep me at home, it would be you. Got my indignation, but I’m pure in all my thoughts..I’m alive. Wind in my hair I feel a part of everywhere. Late at night I hear the trees they’re singing with the dead, overhead. Leave it to me as I find a way to be. Consider me a satellite forever orbiting. I knew all the rules but the rules did not know me. Guaranteed.
