True Prosperity
Posted by: | CommentsDon’t you find going back to the office difficult after a weeklong vacation? And it’s been such a long time since I took a holiday at home. So nice. But the dread was replaced with a smile this morning when I found a surprise waiting for me: a bag of back to the office supplies which included a pear and XXX Vitamin Water. Such a sweet gesture. So now, here I sit at the office feeling refreshed and ready to jump into my 40/30/30 % split between jobs! That still cracks me up (if you don’t know what I’m referring to there, you’ll just have to watch my confessions from November 19th.)
One thing’s for sure, my hands are going to be full today: I opened Outlook and was greeted with 273 messages. Eeek! No biggie, I’ll handle ‘em.
Speaking of work, I’d like to choose the Word of the Week this time around: Prosperity. It’s what we’re working for, right? But it’s so much more than a fat back account; it’s achieving prosperity in every aspect of our lives. I started thinking about bigger picture prosperity over the weekend, so I picked up one of my books on the subject: True Prosperity – How To Have Everything~ Yehuda Berg. It’s such a great book. Yehuda presents the reader with a different persepctive on money - a deadon perspective: There is nothing physical about money anymore. Money is consciousness. I agreee with that persepctive: we decide how it’s going to affect our lives. I personally think it’s a big contributor to the economic breakdown: we give it too much power. Another great perspective: Money is not physical. When you use money to share – to make things grow, to bring great projects into the world, to provide for your family – it will be a force for the good. But if it falls into your life unearned and underseved, and if you keep it to satisfy your egoistic desires, it can destroy you. A great summarization on the green, don’t you think?
And now we’ll move our way into Light consciousness: an essential tool in acheving true prosperity:
Light consciousness is liberation from the straitjacket of the ordinary, the expected, and the logical.
And with it, everything changes.
In Light consciousness, you’ll have no idea how it happens, but you’ll somehow find yourself at the right place at the right time. You know those days when everything just seems to work out? In Light consciousness, lightbulbs begin going off, and great ideas are “suddenly” born. The jeans you just happen to be selling are the ones every kid wants to buy. You live as though the next big idea is just around the corner, because it is – and you know that the idea will show up in the place you least expect it to, falling from the lips of the last person you’d expect to hear it from. All this is Light consciousness.
What do you think, is Light consciousness mystical mumbojumbo to you? Or as my dad calls it; New Age (I keep telling him that word went out in the 90′s.) But I can almost guarantee we’ve ALL experienced this level of consciousness, right? The best part of this awareness is it doesn’t require a pilgrimage to India or sitting in lotus pose meditating for days on end. It is inherent in each of us, we just need to take the time and tap into it. Listen to that “inner-voice” – the GUT. This is Light consciousness.
Okay then, it’s obvious I really enjoy this book. What do you think, what defines a prosperous person? Better yet, are you a prosperous person? What enriches your life? Let’s replace the Monday blues with some Monday inspiration!

tearing down a shrine..
Posted by: | CommentsMy dreams have been rather quiet lately, but this one last night definitely made up for lost time. I was back at my old loft apartment, where I lived with my ex. It was a great apartment: vaulted ceilings, petite cathedral windows where the wall met the ceiling, a lofted master bedroom, a little piece of heaven in Ohio City. I found myself back in our living room last night, trying to tear down a shrine that was near one of the cathedral windows. It was so high and I was getting incredibly frustrated trying to reach it. My friends were there; Susan, En, Topher, Marc (so nice to see you) and H. And I was especially delighted to see my dad there. I’ve been thinking a lot about my dad, especially after seeing him on Thanksgiving. There are a few burning questions when it comes to my father. Moving on. A few of my friends were cheering me on because I couldn’t figure out a way to reach the shrine. My salvation finally arrived: my dad boosted me up to reach my destination. Oh the beautiful irony with that one boost. No matter how difficult it was growing up under such a strict religious hand, my father gave me my voice and the strength to speak it. I owe him. The shrine was pieces of my life: past, present and future: a master card magnet (I think that symbolizes my impending freedom from debt (thank god); Thor’s (my german shepherd) ashes; Buddha masks (peace); a map (searching for my new home – and the opportunity to drive cross country with my best friend in February); a few lockets, one with blonde hair (not sure on this one yet); and a key (to my future home, perhaps?) I’m so glad I started keeping a notebook by my bed because this dream was such a great reminder. I may just be on the right path….
