Sunday brunch and well wishes….

By xian

Happy Monday, friends! Didn’t we just do this? Maybe it’s part of getting older, but it’s crazy how time moves so quickly. *Note to self: time is an illusion.*  How were your weekends? Do anything fun? I had an excellent weekend: an awesome dinner with Susan Friday night, ran errands Saturday, and yesterday I went out for brunch. Loves brunch! I even met some new people there: an owner of a bar in downtown (what’s left of it) Cleveland. He was with a friend. They were cracking my shit up! About a half hour later, a few of their other gay boyfriends came to join them. Here’s where it got interesting. We were sitting at the bar for awhile and decided to take it to a table. And let me tell you, that was one big gay table! So much fun! And I was just thinking about how much I wanted a few guy pals around. I’ve tried to make a few guy friends here and there, but somehow sex gets thrown into the mix…Can’t we just be friends and not take it below the belt? Sex complicates things. Moving on…  One of their friends was an older gentlemen, and he brought two younger guys along – total jocks. I observed their actions for awhile and then it hit me: “they’re not gay, they are his arm candy!” One of the studs kept pulling my chair closer to him. I was all, “listen dude, give me my space!” Yeah, that’s what I need, to date somebody “confused.” And how difficult would that be, dating someone that is into both sex?! I’ll say one thing, he was mighty delicious: tall, dark and way handsome. It’s strange though, I have no desire right now to pursue a relationship. Of course I’m going to stay open to the possibilities, but they can find me now. I’m a bit worn out from that little journey. Haha…!  I had such a nice time with the boys though, we talked for well over an hour. So nice to hear new stories. And an even nicer way to end the weekend.

The rockin’ weekend aside, I also received some bad news yesterday morning. Adrienne, my very best friend that lives in the Cape (I talk about her often) broke her leg! :( I was able to speak with her for a few minutes yesterday morning, but she’s in a lot of pain. She’s going in for surgery this morning. I really wish I was there with her right now. We’ve always been so good at taking care of each other. We basically grew up together; I met her when I was 20, so that puts us at the 17-year friendship mark. ;) She is my heart. It’s such a setback for her – she’s getting ready to move her life to the Southwest. SO proud of her. Let’s all send lots of healing energy her way, and well wishes for a speedy recovery! And my wishes for you…to have a fantastical Monday!! XOs…
